The Flore Coat’s story begins in Macedonia, where the 100% deadstock cotton is initially sourced. Every inch of fabric is carefully selected by Daniela Milosheska, the founder of Bastet Noir, from local, family-owned manufacturers selling industry excess. When sourcing materials, Bastet Noir prioritizes quality, only using the highest grade, natural fibers to make sure the coat can last a lifetime. Every piece of fabric is unique, so no two coats will be the same. Once the material is sourced, it is brought to Gordana Zhezhova’s studio, the head seamstress for Bastet Noir, where the coat will be handcrafted through a slow production process. Every garment is handmade by single mothers who are fairly compensated, professional seamstresses to ensure quality and reduce waste. The coat is formed into a classic silhouette with a double-breasted front and shoulder pads. Once the coat is completed, it is packaged in a pouch made of excess material and sent off to a shipment center heading straight to you. This coat has lived in 1 country, traveled hundreds of miles, and given a new life to discarded material, to earn a permanent spot in your wardrobe. We hope you love this coat and wear it with pride knowing that you are embodying fashion and choosing to better the planet with your conscious shopping choice.
