The Pleated Cropped Cardigan’s story begins in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where the deadstock materials are initially sourced. Every piece of fabric used is carefully selected by Mary Kahle, the founder of KAHLE, who carefully selects excess and deadstock material from various garment district fabric stores. When sourcing materials, KAHLE prioritizes quality, always focusing on the composition and color of the fabric. Once the material is sourced, it is transported to Mary’s apartment in Philly where the production process begins. The cardigan is responsibly handmade by Mary in her studio, embracing the nature of slow fashion as she ensures the utmost quality of each piece. By creating one-of-a-kind items and collecting any scraps or trims, Mary directly combats waste while producing this cardigan. Once the cardigan is completed, it is packaged (Mary is phasing into new eco-packaging) and dropped off at a shipment center headed straight to you. This cardigan has lived in 1 country, given new life to discarded fabric, and traveled hundreds of miles to earn a permanent spot in your wardrobe. We hope you love this cardigan and wear it with pride, knowing that you are embodying fashion and choosing to better the planet with your conscious shopping choice.
